What Our Guests Have To Say About Their Experience at The Laurel

“We had a wonderful stay. The house is almost completely isolated except for one house nearby. The woods are beautiful and it is so quiet and peaceful. The outside shower is wonderful after a day at the beach. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need. The best part is the screened in porch to have coffee in the morning and cocktails at night. The owners were great. We had arrived a little early and they let us drop our stuff off so we were able to go out around town without a car full. The only downside is the upstairs bedroom is open to the living space with only curtains to close off. *****Laurie W. Submitted to WeNeedAVacation.com

“This lovely, private house made our vacation to Cape Cod extra special. When sitting in the screened in back porch or bathing in the fantastic outdoor shower or sunning on the rooftop, we felt as if we were in a treehouse along the upper edges of the forest canopy. The house was appointed with every amenity we needed including a comfortable, luxurious Jacuzzi bathtub. The bed was very comfortable with nice quality linens. The location is secluded and quiet yet close to numerous beaches and very accessible to Route 6.
We hope to visit again and would highly recommend The Laurel for your Cape Cod vacation” * * * * * Emily F. Submitted to WeNeedAVacation.com

“Rented the main house for 2 weeks in June in 2014 and one week in June in 2015 and had a wonderful time both years. Open and airy upstairs level (great room in center, master bedroom off one end, screen porch off the other) is even nicer than photos suggested. Comfortable bedroom suite downstairs. Private and quiet with great views. The home is just one mile from Truro center, 5 minutes from magnificent ocean beach, and 15 minutes from Provincetown. House is well maintained, with owners who are well organized and receptive to questions or requests. We have rented many vacation homes over the years and feel this was among the very best. The next time we vacation on Cape Cod, we will definitely try to rent it again.” * * * * * Susan B. Submitted to WeNeedAVacation.com

“The house and guest house were delightful and very practical and handy. Your instructions answered every question we had. We prepared mussels, flounder, and scallops at home, had lobster in Ptown and also managed to chow down at Black Fish (it was Ashley's night off). We also swam, sunbathed, and strolled at either Marconi Beach and Newcomb Hollow Beach pretty much every day. The beach blanket and chairs came in handy. One day Marconi Beach was the hangout for six giant seals. It was high tide and so they were very near the shore and staring at us. They seemed quite curious. We never got to their gathering place near Head of the Meadow Beach. We had great weather and a wonderful vacation. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.” * * * * * Mary Rae B . “It's honestly a shame that everyone doesn't have at least one chance, to experience the magic of The Laurel. I could write a book on what my one experience, gave to me. Maybe that's something for you to consider in the future. Just one other thing. Please don't ever sell her!” * * * * * Margart H. Submitted to WeNeedAVacation.com

“I was fortunate enough to stay at the Laurel during the winter 2008. It is a wonderful house with all the modern amenities (whirlpool tub, satellite television, rooms wired with stereo speakers, etc.). The house looks out on the marvelous Truro landscape and creature comforts that can be found in Wellfleet, Orleans, or Provincetown are never very far away. The owner was extremely easy to work with on securing the property, too. All in all, a wonderful experience had by all. I would highly recommend a break from the ordinary and stay at the Laurel” * * * * * Andy C. Submitted to WeNeedAVacation.com

“Outstanding stay in a beautifully designed, comfortable, and well equipped home in Truro. Hosts Roy and Mary are welcoming, warm, and helpful. The house is surrounded by nature and is very private. Pleasant walks in the forest can begin from the door, and the beaches are a few minutes away.” * * * * * Fresher1, Submitted to TripAdvisor.com

“We rent vacation homes and apartments all over the world. In the past 20 years we've rented more than 80 places and this house is in the TOP FIVE of that list. It's perfectly designed for a very comfortable stay up among the trees and private. The house is fully equipped with every modern convenience (except a blender) and the bed and linens are so comfortable. The place is conveniently located between Wellfleet and Truro Center with their excellent restaurants and resources. Mary and Roy are very accommodating and supportive. You won't find better hosts. We highly recommend this house and its gracious owner” * * * * * Barbara and Bob Submitted to TripAdvisor.com

“House was exactly as described inside and outside. Roy was a great host, always available if needed. Screened in porch and livening level had a great breeze to keep things cool. Sunrises and sunsets on upper level just a bonus” * * * * * Pete S Submitted to TripAdvisor.com

“Off the beaten path, yet close to beaches, trails, and shopping. The main house was spacious, clean, and private. The grounds were very well maintained. Mary and Roy were both gracious and hospitable and we hope to return for another vacation soon.” * * * * * Patty M Submitted to TripAdvisor.com

“We had an incredible week. As always. The weather was perfect, we had the beaches to ourselves, esp. Longnook, mornings, for a swim. It doesn't get any better! We did all our favorite things, a couple days at Herring Cove, to swim, paddle, biked to Race Point, walk out to Hatchets Harbor. We paddled from the Coast Guard Station in P'town out to Wood End Light, among the seals. Had some nice days at Head of the Meadow, watching seals, surfed, swam, we all biked over to 6A, on the bike trail there, as well as Old KIngs Highway, over to Coast Guard Beach. We went to P'town to shop. Went to the Drive - In. Saw the sunset at Great Hollow or Pamet Harbor, then ice cream at Savorys every night. The restaurants were great,The Black Fish, Moby Dick's, The Bass Tavern, Mac's at Wellfleet Harbor, and Arnold's in Eastham are not to be missed! They know how to cook the seafood! Yum! Got in plenty of sun and fun! The house was lovely, so private, and had everything we needed. The upstairs screened porch was really nice. The yard was so quiet and peaceful, and private, cool and breezy for a rest out of the sun. The hiking/biking trails from the house were fun and adventurous! The proximity to our favorite beaches, the harbor, the local store 'Jam's' and farmers market were very convenient. It was easy to keep up. We enjoyed it thoroughly. We'll be back! Thank you!” * * * * * JoAnn K Submitted to TripAdvisor.com

“A fully equipped and extraordinarily comfortable house. Plenty of room for company in a spacious kitchen/living/dining area with an large adjacent screened-in porch overlooking treetops. Lots of light and a roof-top observatory terrace for star-gazing. We give the house a 10 for upkeep and equipment--from well stocked kitchen to full electronic components and no-fail wi-fi. There is plenty of storage space and a full component of lovely bath and bed linens. Washer/drier, dishwasher, gas barbecue, beach chairs all there. Of course, we have rented again for this summer.” * * * * * Paula L Submitted to TripAdvisor.com

“Maddy and I took a two-week off season rental at the Laurel Main House from September 17 to October 1, 2011. The house is perfectly laid out for two couples. The downstairs bedroom has its own bathroom and offers great privacy. There is even a fold-up bed downstairs for an additional guest. Upstairs, the house has everything we were looking for to accommodate a two-week stay. The master bedroom is very comfortable, with plenty of storage in the walk-in closet. The kitchen/living/dining area has everything you might need for meal preparation and entertaining. Even the entertainment system is well thought-out. It offers Direct TV, CD/DVD player, and internet access through a MAC computer. There is wireless access if you bring your own laptop. The screened-in porch located off the living area was great for having some wine and cheese and great conversation. Additionally, we had access to the garage, which was great for storing suitcases, beach chairs, bicycles, etc. The house is in beautiful wooded surroundings, and the setting is quiet, restful, and stress-free. From Truro, the drive to Provincetown is less than ten miles and all that Wellfleet offers is that distance or less. We even went to the large Stop & Shop in Orleans to stock up on food at only 17 miles distance. You could say that the location in Truro is great for anywhere on the Outer Cape. Our bottom line is that we stayed in a great home and had a great time on the Cape in September. We highly recommend the Laurel for consideration as a temporary home on Cape Cod.” * * * * * John Submitted to TripAdvisor.com
